As a volunteer at the hospital and Jewish Family Services, I tried to visit Violet several times but she was always asleep and I did not want to wake her up. I wish I could have talked to her. I am so sorry for the family's loss as she seemed like a wonderful wife and mom. May her memory be for a blessing.
Violet Varon Cairnes will always be known as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Before she left this world on July 18th, 2021, she made sure to leave a lasting imprint on all our hearts for generations to come.
Violet was born to Benjamin and Ana Varon on July 26th, 1960 in Guantanamo, Cuba. She came to the United states at the age of 8 with her family, and made Houston, TX their home. After graduating from Sharpstown High School in 1978, she went on to pursue her bachelor's degree at the University of Houston. While attending, she worked at the family furniture store, Benjamin's Home Furniture. She continued to work there after graduating and would become the smiling face of the business that everyone grew to know and loved. Violet would continue to honor her parent's legacy by holding multiple titles for different furniture companies over the years, and all the while keeping that genuine smile that she was known for.
Violet met her husband, George while attending Sharpstown junior high. After high school graduation they each went on their own path until they crossed a few years later. They were married on August 7th, 1988, surrounded by friends and family. Together they have three children Ben, Michael and Nicole.
Violet lived life at her own pace. She devoted her life to being the matriarch of her family, always doing the most for everyone while adding her own personal flare. She loved her life, beginning with her morning routine of coffee and a late breakfast, to late-night conversations with her children. Violet will be remembered for her beautiful soul, her gift of gab, and for spreading a type love that showed no bounds.
She is survived by her husband George Cairnes, son Ben Cairnes and daughter-in-law Cindy Cairnes, son Michael Cairnes and fiancée Miquelle Perez, daughter Nicole Henderson and son-in-law Luke Henderson and grandchild George Henderson.
Funeral Services will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079; Friday, July 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
