Maurice Rosenblatt passed away May 1, 2015 at the age 92. He was born June 11, 1922 and raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated from San Jacinto High School and shortly after entered The Army Air Corp and then The Air Force during WWII. There he became a Master Engine Flight Mechanic working 7 days a week helping to keep the Bombers and Cargo Planes in the air. After the war, Maurice worked a short time with his uncle in his jewelry store. Then he met the love of his life, Shirley Molof and they were married for "63 yrs."
Maurice began a manufacturing company with his father in law and uncle that designed and made infant and children's wear. He worked for years as a lifetime member with The Masonic Lodge at Temple Lodge. He and Shirley both worked together with The Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital. Maurice was disabled but that didn't stop him from being the flag holder. He proudly walked in the Shrine Parades wearing his Fez and carrying the American flag! Maurice founded and developed an Insurance company dedicated to Pest Control Operators that provided Workers Comp. and General Liability Insurance. After that he worked with The Texas Department of Insurance creating Viatical Settlements for insureds that had chronic illnesses and Life Settlements for those "72 yrs." and older.
Maurice was a loving, sweet and respected man that loved his friends and family who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded by his loving wife Shirley in 2010 and is survived by his son Michael "Mickey" Rosenblatt and granddaughter MaKinzey Auriel Rosenblatt and her mom Marchell Marek. A special thank you goes to his longtime provider Tamika Ross who cared for Maurice from 2011 to his last day at home. A Military Service, conducted by Rabbi Schloss was held May 12, 2015 at
